brahmā vishnu śiva — tina gunāvatāre gani
śakty-āveśa — sanakādi, prithu, vyāsa-muni
SYNONYMS
brahmā — Lord Brahmā; vishnu — Lord Vishnu; śiva — Lord Śiva; tina — three; guna-avatāre — among the incarnations controlling the three modes of material nature; gani — I count; śakti-āveśa — empowered incarnations; sanaka-ādi — the four Kumāras; prithu — King Prithu; vyāsa-muni — Vyāsadeva.
TRANSLATION
Brahmā, Vishnu and Śiva are qualitative incarnations. Empowered incarnations are those like the Kumāras, King Prithu and Mahā-muni Vyāsa [the compiler of the Vedas].
