śuniyā brāhmaṇa garve varṇite lāgilā
ghaṭī eke śata śloka gańgāra varṇilā
śuniyā — hearing this; brāhmaṇa — the paṇḍita, Keśava Kāśmīrī; garve — in pride; varṇite — to describe; lāgilā — began; ghaṭī — hour; eke — one; śata — hundred; śloka — verses; gańgāra — of the Ganges; varṇilā — described.
When the brāhmaṇa, Keśava Kāśmīrī, heard this, he became still more puffed up, and within one hour he composed one hundred verses describing mother Ganges.
