sahaje yavana-śāstre adṛḍha vicāra

hāsi' tāhe mahāprabhu puchena āra-vāra

SYNONYMS

sahaje — naturally; yavana-śāstrein the scriptures of the meat-eaters; adṛḍha — unsound; vicāra — judgment; hāsi' — smiling; tāhe — from him; mahāprabhuCaitanya Mahāprabhu; puchena — inquired; āra-vāra — again.

TRANSLATION

"The reasoning and arguments in the scriptures of the meat-eaters are not very sound," the Kazi concluded. Upon hearing this statement, Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu smiled and inquired from him as follows.
