|Ādi-līlā||Chapter 3: The External Reasons for the Appearance of Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu|
Bhaktivedanta VedaBase: Śrī Caitanya Caritāmṛta Ādi 3.96
prakaṭiyā dekhe ācārya sakala saḿsāra
kṛṣṇa-bhakti gandha-hīna viṣaya-vyavahāra
prakaṭiyā — manifesting; dekhe — He saw; ācārya — Advaita Ācārya; sakala — all; saḿsāra — material existence; kṛṣṇa-bhakti — of devotion to Lord Kṛṣṇa; gandha-hīna — without a trace; viṣaya — of the sense objects; vyavahāra — affairs.
Advaita Ācārya having appeared, He found the world devoid of devotional service to Śrī Kṛṣṇa because people were engrossed in material affairs.
