caitanyera dāsya-preme ha-ilā pāgala

SYNONYMS

nityānanda avadhūta — the mendicant Lord Nityānanda; sabāte — among all; āgala — foremost; caitanyera dāsya-premein the emotional ecstatic love of being a servant of Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu; ha-ilā pāgala — became mad.

TRANSLATION

Śrī Nityānanda, the wandering mendicant, is the foremost of all the associates of Lord Caitanya. He became mad in the ecstasy of service to Lord Caitanya.
