uttama hańā āpanāke māne trinādhama

dui-prakāre sahishnutā kare vriksha-sama

SYNONYMS

uttama hańā — although being very much exalted; āpanāke — himself; māne — thinks; trina-adhama — lower than a blade of the grass on the ground; dui-prakārein two ways; sahishnutā — tolerance; kare — performs; vriksha-sama — like the tree.

TRANSLATION

"These are the symptoms of one who chants the Hare Krishna mahā-mantra. Although he is very exalted, he thinks himself lower than the grass on the ground, and like a tree, he tolerates everything in two ways.
