vrajera viśuddha-prema, — yena jāmbū-nada hema,
ātma-sukhera yāhāń nāhi gandha
se prema jānā'te loke, prabhu kailā ei śloke,
SYNONYMS
vrajera — of Vrindāvana; viśuddha-prema — the pure love of Krishna; yena — like; jāmbū-nada hema — the golden particles found in the Jāmbū River; ātma-sukhera — of personal sense gratification; yāhāń — where; nāhi gandha — there is not even a scent; se prema — that love of Godhead; jānā'te loke — to advertise among the people; prabhu — Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu; kailā — has written; ei śloke — this verse; pade — in different steps; kailā arthera nirbandha — has clarified the real meaning.
TRANSLATION
The pure devotional service in Vrindāvana is like the golden particles in the river Jāmbū. In Vrindāvana there is not a trace of personal sense gratification. It is to advertise such pure love in this material world that Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu has written the previous verse and explained its meaning.
