nīlācale chilā yaiche premāveśa mana

vṛndāvana yāite pathe haila śata-guṇa

SYNONYMS

nīlācale — at Jagannātha Purī; chilā — was; yaicheas; prema-āveśa mana — always in a mentality of ecstatic love; vṛndāvanato Vṛndāvana; yāite — going; pathe — on the road; haila — became; śata-guṇa — one hundred times.

TRANSLATION

Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu's mind was absorbed in ecstatic love at Jagannātha Purī, but when He passed along the road on the way to Vṛndāvana, that love increased a hundred times.
