upavanodyāna dekhi' vṛndāvana-jñāna

tāhāń yāi' nāce, gāya, kṣaṇe mūrcchā 'na

SYNONYMS

upavana-udyāna — small parks; dekhi' — seeing; vṛndāvana-jñāna — took them to be the forests of Vṛndāvana; tāhāń — there; yāi' — going; nāce — dances; gāya — sings; kṣaṇein a moment; mūrcchā — unconsciousness; 'na — goes.

TRANSLATION

Sometimes Caitanya Mahāprabhu mistook the small parks of the city for Vṛndāvana. Sometimes He would go there, dance and chant and sometimes fall unconscious in spiritual ecstasy.
