sanātana kahe, — "tumi kara rāja-bhaya

dakshina giyāche yadi leuti' āoyaya

tāńhāre kahiosei bāhya-kritye gela

gańgāra nikata gańgā dekhi' jhāńpa dila

SYNONYMS

sanātana kaheSanātana replied; tumi — you; — not; karado; rāja-bhaya — fear of the government; dakshinato the south; giyāche — has gone; yadi — if; leuti' — returning; āoyaya — comes; tāńhāreto him; kahio — you say; seihe; bāhya-krityeto evacuate; gela — went; gańgāra nikata — near the bank of the Ganges; gańgā dekhi' — seeing the Ganges; jhāńpa dila — jumped.

TRANSLATION

Sanātana replied, "There is no danger. The Nawab has gone to the south. If he returns, tell him that Sanātana went to pass stool near the bank of the Ganges and that as soon as he saw the Ganges, he jumped in.
