prathamei kare krishna 'purushāvatāra'
seita purusha haya trividha prakāra
SYNONYMS
prathamei — in the beginning; kare — does; krishna — Lord Krishna; purusha-avatāra — the incarnation of the three Vishnus (Mahā-Vishnu, Garbhodakaśāyī Vishnu and Kshīrodakaśāyī Vishnu); seita — that; purusha — Vishnu; haya — becomes; tri-vidha prakāra — three different manifestations.
TRANSLATION
"In the beginning, Krishna incarnates Himself as the purusha-avatāras, or Vishnu incarnations. These are of three types.
PURPORT
Up to this verse, the many types of expansions have been described. Now the manifestations of the Lord's different potencies will be described.
