ei-mate cali' vipra nija-deśe āilā

grāmera nikaṭa āsi' manete cintilā

SYNONYMS

ei-matein this way; cali' — walking; vipra — the brāhmaṇa; nija — own; deśeto the country; āilā — returned; grāmerato the village; nikaṭa — near; āsi' — coming; manete — within his mind; cintilā — thought.

TRANSLATION

The young brāhmaṇa walked and walked in this way until he eventually arrived in his own country. When he neared his own village, he began to think as follows.
