eta śuni' sei vipra rahe mauna dhari'
tāńra putra mārite āila hāte theńgā kari'
SYNONYMS
eta śuni' — hearing this; sei vipra — the elderly brāhmana; rahe — remains; mauna dhari' — holding silence; tāńra — his; putra — son; mārite — to strike; āila — came out; hāte — in hand; theńgā — stick; kari' — taking.
TRANSLATION
After the young brāhmana submitted this statement, the elderly brāhmana remained silent. Taking this opportunity, his son immediately came out with a stick to strike the younger man.
