ashtadasa artha kaila abhipraya lana

SYNONYMS

tat-tat-pada -- all those items; pradhanye -- principally; atmarama -- the word atmarama; milana -- causing to meet; ashtadasa -- eighteen; artha -- meanings; kaila -- did; abhipraya -- purpose; lana -- accepting.

TRANSLATION

Lord Caitanya Mahaprabhu took each word specifically and combined it with the word "atmarama." He thus explained the word "atmarama" in eighteen different ways.
