SYNONYMS
vajrāt api — than a thunderbolt; kathorāni — harder; mridūni — softer; kusumāt api — than a flower; loka-uttarānām — persons above the human platform of behavior; cetāmsi — the hearts; kah — who; nu — but; vijñātum — to understand; īśvarah — able.
TRANSLATION
"The hearts of those above common behavior are sometimes harder than a thunderbolt and sometimes softer than a flower. How can one accommodate such contradictions in great personalities?"
