bhakta-gaṇa upavāsī tāhāńi rahilā

āra dine duḥkhī hañā nīlācale āilā

SYNONYMS

bhakta-gaṇa — the devotees; upavāsī — fasting; tāhāńi — there; rahilā — remained; āra dine — on the next day; duḥkhī — unhappy; hañā — becoming; nīlācaleto Jagannātha Purī; āilā — returned.

TRANSLATION

All the devotees remained there and fasted, and the next day they all unhappily returned to Jagannātha Purī.
