gopa-jāti krishna, gopī — preyasī tāńhāra
devī vā anya strī krishna nā kare ańgīkāra
SYNONYMS
gopa-jāti — belonging to the cowherd community; krishna — Lord Krishna; gopī — the damsels of Vrajabhūmi, the gopīs; preyasī — dearmost; tāńhāra — His; devī — the wives of the demigods; vā — or; anya — other; strī — women; krishna — Lord Krishna; nā — does not; kare — do; ańgīkāra — acceptance.
TRANSLATION
"Lord Krishna belongs to the cowherd community, and the gopīs are the dearmost lovers of Krishna. Although the wives of the denizens of the heavenly planets are most opulent within the material world, neither they nor any other women in the material universe can acquire Krishna's association.
