ashtādaśādhyāya pade ānanda-āveśe
aśuddha padena, loka kare upahāse
SYNONYMS
ashtādaśa-adhyāya — eighteen chapters; pade — reads; ānanda-āveśe — in great ecstasy; aśuddha padena — could not pronounce the text correctly; loka — people in general; kare — do; upahāse — joking.
TRANSLATION
The brāhmana regularly read the eighteen chapters of the Bhagavad-gītā in great transcendental ecstasy, but because he could not pronounce the words correctly, people used to joke about him.
