Canto 1: CreationChapter 16: How Parikshit Received the Age of Kali

prithivi-dharmayos tada

parikshin nama rajarshih

praptah pracim sarasvatim

SYNONYMS

tayoh -- between them; evam -- thus; kathayatoh -- engaged in conversation; prithivi -- earth; dharmayoh -- and the personality of religion; tada -- at that time; parikshit -- King Parikshit; nama -- of the name; raja-rishih -- a saint amongst kings; praptah -- arrived; pracim -- flowing towards the east; sarasvatim -- River Sarasvati.

TRANSLATION

While the earth and the personality of religion were thus engaged in conversation, the saintly King Parikshit reached the shore of the Sarasvati River, which flowed towards the east.

Thus end the Bhaktivedanta purports of the First Canto, Sixteenth Chapter, of the Srimad-Bhagavatam, entitled "How Parikshit Received the Age of Kali."
