yatanty unnidadhe 'mbaram
SYNONYMS
mā bhaishta — don't any of you fear; vāta — the wind; varshābhyām — and rain; tat — from that; trānam — your deliverance; vihitam — has been arranged; mayā — by me; iti — thus; uktvā — speaking; ekena — with one; hastena — hand; yatantī — endeavoring; unnidadhe — she lifted; ambaram — her upper garment.
TRANSLATION
"Don't be afraid of the wind and rain," said one gopī. "I will save you." And with that she lifted her shawl above her head.
PURPORT
Here a gopī enacts Lord Krishna's pastime of lifting Govardhana Hill.
