tasyā amūni nah kshobham

kurvanty uccaih padāni yat

yaikāpahritya gopīnām

raho bhunkte 'cyutādharam

na lakshyante padāny atra

tasyā nūnam trināńkuraih

khidyat-sujātāńghri-talām

unninye preyasīm priyah

SYNONYMS

tasyāh — of Her; amūni — these; nah — for us; kshobham — agitation; kurvanti — create; uccaih — exceedingly; padāni — the footprints; yat — because; — who; ekā — alone; apahritya — being taken aside; gopīnām — of all the gopīs; rahahin seclusion; bhuńkte — She enjoys; acyuta — of Krishna; adharam — the lips; na lakshyanteare not seen; padāni — the feet; atra — here; tasyāh — Her; nūnam — certainly; trina — by the blades of grass; ańkuraih — and the growing sprouts; khidyat — being caused pain; sujāta — tender; ańghri — of whose feet; talām — the soles; unninyeHe has lifted up; preyasīm — His beloved; priyah — Her dear Krishna.

TRANSLATION

These footprints of that special gopī greatly disturb us. Of all the gopīs, She alone was taken away to a secluded place, where She is enjoying the lips of Krishna. Look, we can't see Her footprints over here! It's obvious that the grass and sprouts were hurting the tender soles of Her feet, and so the lover lifted up His beloved.
