|Canto 10: The Summum Bonum||Chapter 33: The Rasa Dance|
Bhaktivedanta VedaBase: Srimad Bhagavatam 10.33.6
madhye maninam haimanam
tatra -- there; atisusubhe -- appeared most brilliant; tabhih -- with them; bhagavan -- the Supreme Lord; devaki-sutah -- Krishna, the son of Devaki; madhye -- in the midst; maninam -- of ornaments; haimanam -- golden; maha -- great; marakatah -- a sapphire; yatha -- as.
In the midst of the dancing gopis, Lord Krishna appeared most brilliant, like an exquisite sapphire in the midst of golden ornaments.
Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Thakura states that Devaki, besides being the name of Vasudeva's wife, is also a name of mother Yasoda, as stated in the Adi Purana: dve namni nanda-bharyaya yasoda devakiti ca. "The wife of Nanda has two names -- Yasoda and Devaki."
