śrī-śuka uvāca

tatas tāh krishna-sandeśair

vyapeta-viraha-jvarāh

uddhavam pūjayām cakrur

jñātvātmānam adhokshajam

SYNONYMS

śrī-śukah uvācaŚrī Śukadeva Gosvāmī said; tatah — then; tāh — they; krishna-sandeśaih — by the messages from Krishna; vyapeta — removed; viraha — of their separation; jvarāh — the fever; uddhavamUddhava; pūjayām cakruh — worshiped; jñātvā — recognizing him; ātmānam — Himself; adhokshajamas the Supreme Lord.

TRANSLATION

Śukadeva Gosvāmī continued: Lord Krishna's messages having relieved their fever of separation, the gopīs then worshiped Uddhava, recognizing him as nondifferent from their Lord, Krishna.

PURPORT

Śrīla Śrīdhara Svāmī states that the words jñatvātmānam adhokshajam also indicate that the gopīs recognize Lord Krishna to be the very soul of their lives and thus spiritually one with them.
