rukmi -- Rukmi; tu -- however; rakshasa -- in the style of demons; udvaham -- the marriage; krishna-dvit -- the hater of Krishna; asahan -- unable to bear; svasuh -- of his sister; prishthatah -- from behind; anvagamat -- he followed; krishnam -- Lord Krishna; akshauhinya -- by an entire akshauhini division; vritah -- surrounded; bali -- powerful.
TRANSLATION
Powerful Rukmi, however, was especially envious of Krishna. He could not bear the fact that Krishna had carried off his sister to marry her in the Rakshasa style. Thus he pursued the Lord with an entire military division.
