anyas caivam-vidha bharyah

krishnasyasan sahasrasah

bhaumam hatva tan-nirodhad

ahritas caru-darsanah

SYNONYMS

anyah -- other; ca -- and; evam-vidhah -- just like these; bharyah -- wives; krishnasya -- of Krishna; asan -- became; sahasrasah -- by the thousands; bhaumam -- (the demon) Bhauma; hatva -- after killing; tat -- by him, Bhauma; nirodhat -- from their captivity; ahritah -- taken; caru -- beautiful; darsanah -- whose appearance.

TRANSLATION

Lord Krishna also acquired thousands of other wives equal to these when He killed Bhaumasura and freed the beautiful maidens the demon was holding captive.

Thus end the purports of the humble servants of His Divine Grace A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada to the Tenth Canto, Fifty-eighth Chapter, of the Srimad-Bhagavatam, entitled "Krishna Marries Five Princesses."
