nigrhitam sutam srutva

yady esyantiha vrsnayah

bhagna-darpah samam yanti

prana iva su-samyatah

SYNONYMS

nigrhitam -- captured; sutam -- their son; srutva -- hearing; yadi -- if; esyanti -- they will come; iha -- here; vrsnayah -- the Vrsnis; bhagna -- broken; darpah -- whose pride; samam -- pacification; yanti -- they will attain; pranah -- the senses; iva -- as; su -- properly; samyatah -- brought under control.

TRANSLATION

If the Vrsnis come here when they learn that their son has been captured, we will break their pride. Thus they'll become subdued, like bodily senses brought under strict control.
