suhrdah prakrtir daran

upayunkta tatah svayam

SYNONYMS

samvibhajya -- distributing; agratah -- first; vipran -- to the brahmanas; srak -- garlands; tambula -- betel nut; anulepanaih -- and sandalwood paste; suhrdah -- to His friends; prakrtih -- to His ministers; daran -- to His wives; upayunkta -- He partook; tatah -- then; svayam -- Himself.

TRANSLATION

After first distributing flower garlands, pan and sandalwood paste to the brahmanas, He would give these gifts to His friends, ministers and wives, and finally He would partake of them Himself.
