striyaś ca samvīkshya mitho 'ti-sauhrida-

smitāmalāpāńga-driśo 'bhirebhire

stanaih stanān kuńkuma-pańka-rūshitān

nihatya dorbhih pranayāśru-locanāh

SYNONYMS

striyah — the women; ca — and; samvīkshya — seeing; mithah — one another; ati — extreme; sauhrida — with friendly affection; smita — smiling; amalapure; apāńga — exhibiting glances; driśah — whose eyes; abhirebhire — they embraced; stanaih — with breasts; stanān — breasts; kuńkuma — of saffron; pańka — with paste; rūshitān — smeared; nihatya — pressing; dorbhih — with their arms; pranaya — of love; aśru — tears; locanāhin whose eyes.

TRANSLATION

The women glanced at one another with pure smiles of loving friendship. And when they embraced, their breasts, smeared with saffron paste, pressed against one another as their eyes filled with tears of affection.
