śańkha-bhery-ānakādayah

nanritur nata-nartakyas

tushtuvuh sūta-māgadhāh

jaguh su-kanthyo gandharvyah

sańgītam saha-bhartrikāh

SYNONYMS

neduh — sounded; mridańga-patahamridańga and pataha drums; śańkha — conchshells; bherī-ānakabherī and ānaka drums; ādayah — and other instruments; nanrituh — danced; nata-nartakyahmale and female dancers; tushtuvuh — recited praise; sūta-māgadhāhsūta and māgadha bards; jaguh — sang; su-kanthyah — sweet-voiced; gandharvyah — female Gandharvas; sańgītam — songs; saha — along with; bhartrikāh — their husbands.

TRANSLATION

Mridańgas, patahas, conchshells, bherīs, ānakas and other instruments resounded, male and female dancers danced, and sūtas and māgadhas recited glorifications. Sweet-voiced Gandharvīs sang, accompanied by their husbands.
