purānopanishad-rasah
samuddhritah pūrva-jātair
vyoma-yānair mahātmabhih
SYNONYMS
iti — thus; aśesha — of all; samāmnāya — the Vedas; purāna — and Purānas; upanishat — comprising the confidential mystery; rasah — the nectar; samuddhritah — distilled; pūrva — in the distant past; jātaih — by those who were born; vyoma — in the higher regions of the universe; yānaih — who travel; mahā-ātmabhih — saintly persons.
TRANSLATION
Thus the ancient saints who travel in the upper heavens distilled this nectarean and confidential essence of all the Vedas and Purānas.
