parītam pranato 'pricchad

idam eva kurūdvaha

SYNONYMS

tatra — there; upavishtam — sitting; rishibhih — by sages; kalāpa-grāmain the village Kalāpa (nearby Badarikāśrama); vāsibhih — who resided; parītam — surrounded; pranatah — bowing down; apricchathe asked; idam eva — this same (question); kuru-udvahaO most eminent of the Kurus.

TRANSLATION

There Nārada approached Lord Nārāyana Rishi, who was sitting amidst sages of the village of Kalāpa. After bowing down to the Lord, O hero of the Kurus, Nārada asked Him the very same question you have asked me.
