na calasi na vadasy udara-buddhe

kshiti-dhara cintayase mahantam artham

api bata vasudeva-nandananghrim

vayam iva kamayase stanair vidhartum

SYNONYMS

na calasi -- you do not move; na vadasi -- you do not speak; udara -- magnanimous; buddhe -- whose intelligence; kshiti-dhara -- O mountain; cintayase -- you are thinking; mahantam -- great; artham -- about a matter; api bata -- perhaps; vasudeva-nandana -- of the darling son of Vasudeva; anghrim -- the feet; vayam -- we; iva -- just as; kamayase -- you desire; stanaih -- on your breasts (peaks); vidhartum -- to hold.

TRANSLATION

O magnanimous mountain, you neither move nor speak. You must be pondering some matter of great importance. Or do you, like us, desire to hold on your breasts the feet of Vasudeva's darling son?

PURPORT

Here the word stanaih, "on your breasts," refers to the mountain's peaks.
