yah samparyacaran premna

pada-samvahanadibhih

jagad-gurum bhartri-buddhya

tasam kim varnyate tapah

SYNONYMS

yah -- who; samparyacaran -- perfectly served; premna -- with pure love; pada -- His feet; samvahana -- by massaging; adibhih -- and so forth; jagat -- of the universe; gurum -- the spiritual master; bhartri -- as their husband; buddhya -- with the attitude; tasam -- of them; kim -- how; varnyate -- can be described; tapah -- the austere penances.

TRANSLATION

And how could one possibly describe the great austerities that had been performed by the women who perfectly served Him, the spiritual master of the universe, in pure ecstatic love? Thinking of Him as their husband, they rendered such intimate services as massaging His feet.
