yāh samparyacaran premnā

pāda-samvāhanādibhih

jagad-gurum bhartri-buddhyā

tāsām kim varnyate tapah

SYNONYMS

yāh — who; samparyacaran — perfectly served; premnā — with pure love; pāda — His feet; samvāhana — by massaging; ādibhih — and so forth; jagat — of the universe; gurum — the spiritual master; bhartrias their husband; buddhyā — with the attitude; tāsām — of them; kim — how; varnyate — can be described; tapah — the austere penances.

TRANSLATION

And how could one possibly describe the great austerities that had been performed by the women who perfectly served Him, the spiritual master of the universe, in pure ecstatic love? Thinking of Him as their husband, they rendered such intimate services as massaging His feet.
