evaḿ naṣṭeṣu sarveṣu

kuleṣu sveṣu keśavaḥ

avatārito bhuvo bhāra

iti mene 'vaśeṣitaḥ

SYNONYMS

evamin this way; naṣṭeṣu — when they had been destroyed; sarveṣu — all; kuleṣu — the clans of the dynasty; sveṣu — His own; keśavaḥ — Lord Kṛṣṇa; avatāritaḥ — diminished; bhuvaḥ — of the earth; bhāraḥ — the burden; iti — thus; meneHe thought; avaśeṣitaḥ — remaining.

TRANSLATION

When all the members of His own dynasty were thus destroyed, Lord Kṛṣṇa thought to Himself that at last the burden of the earth had been removed.
