prativaktum na cotseha
autkanthyāt smāriteśvarah
SYNONYMS
śrī-śukah uvāca — Śrī Śukadeva said; iti — thus; bhāgavatah — the great devotee; prishtah — being asked; kshattrā — by Vidura; vārtām — message; priya-āśrayām — regarding the dearest; prativaktum — to reply; na — not; ca — also; utsehe — became eager; autkanthyāt — by excessive anxiety; smārita — remembrance; īśvarah — the Lord.
TRANSLATION
Śrī Śukadeva Gosvāmī said: When the great devotee Uddhava was asked by Vidura to speak on the messages of the dearest [Lord Krishna], Uddhava was unable to answer immediately due to excessive anxiety at the remembrance of the Lord.
