SYNONYMS

vishnuh -- Lord Vishnu; gatya -- with the faculty of locomotion; eva -- indeed; caranau -- His two feet; na -- not; udatishthat -- did arise; tada -- even then; virat -- the virat-purusha; nadih -- His blood vessels; nadyah -- the rivers or river-gods; lohitena -- with the blood, with the power of circulation; na -- not; udatishthat -- did stir; tada -- even then; virat -- the virat-purusha.

TRANSLATION

Lord Vishnu entered His feet with the faculty of locomotion, but the virat-purusha refused to stand up even then. The rivers entered His blood vessels with the blood and the power of circulation, but still the Cosmic Being could not be made to stir.
