duruktau kalir ādhatta

bhayam mrityum ca sattama

tayoś ca mithunam jajñe

yātanā nirayas tathā

SYNONYMS

duruktauin Durukti; kalihKali; ādhatta — produced; bhayam — Fearfulness; mrityum — Death; ca — and; sat-tamaO greatest of all good men; tayoh — of those two; ca — and; mithunam — by combination; jajñe — were produced; yātanā — Excessive Pain; nirayah — Hell; tathāas well.

TRANSLATION

O greatest of all good men, by the combination of Kali and Harsh Speech were born children named Mrityu (Death) and Bhīti (Fear). From the combination of Mrityu and Bhīti came children named Yātanā (Excessive Pain) and Niraya (Hell).
