navame navame 'hani

ab-bhaksha uttamaślokam

upādhāvat samādhinā

SYNONYMS

tritīyam — the third month; ca — also; ānayan — passing; māsam — one month; navame navame — on each ninth; ahani — on the day; ap-bhakshah — drinking water only; uttama-ślokam — the Supreme Personality of Godhead, who is worshiped by selected verses; upādhāvat — worshiped; samādhināin trance.

TRANSLATION

In the third month he drank water only every nine days. Thus he remained completely in trance and worshiped the Supreme Personality of Godhead, who is adored by selected verses.
