śraddhāya vākyam devarsher

harsha-vegena dharshitah

vārtā-hartur atiprīto

hāram prādān mahā-dhanam

SYNONYMS

śraddhāya — keeping faith; vākyamin the words; devarsheh — of the great sage Nārada; harsha-vegena — by great satisfaction; dharshitah — overwhelmed; vārtā-hartuh — with the messenger who brought the news; atiprītah — being very satisfied; hārama pearl necklace; prādāt — offered; mahā-dhanam — very valuable.

TRANSLATION

Although he could not believe the words of the messenger, he had full faith in the word of the great sage Nārada. Thus he was greatly overwhelmed by the news, and he immediately offered the messenger a highly valuable necklace in great satisfaction.
