āgnīdhredhmajihva-yajñabāhu-mahāvīra-hiranyareto-ghritaprishtha-savana-medhātithi-vītihotra-kavaya iti sarva evāgni-nāmānah
SYNONYMS
āgnīdhra — Āgnīdhra; idhma-jihva — Idhmajihva; yajña-bāhu — Yajñabāhu; mahā-vīra — Mahāvīra; hiranya-retah — Hiranyaretā; ghritaprishtha — Ghritaprishtha; savana — Savana; medhā-tithi — Medhātithi; vītihotra — Vītihotra; kavayah — and Kavi; iti — thus; sarve — all these; eva — certainly; agni — of the demigod controlling fire; nāmānah — names.
TRANSLATION
The ten sons of Mahārāja Priyavrata were named Āgnīdhra, Idhmajihva, Yajñabāhu, Mahāvīra, Hiranyaretā, Ghritaprishtha, Savana, Medhātithi, Vītihotra and Kavi. These are also names of Agni, the fire-god.
