tayor vilapatoh sarve

dampatyos tad-anuvratāh

ruruduh sma narā nāryah

sarvam āsīd acetanam

SYNONYMS

tayoh — while the two of them; vilapatoh — were lamenting; sarve — all; dam-patyoh — the King, along with his wife; tat-anuvratāh — their followers; ruruduh — cried loudly; sma — indeed; narāh — the male members; nāryah — the female members; sarvam — the whole kingdom; āsīt — became; acetanam — almost unconscious.

TRANSLATION

As the King and Queen lamented, all their male and female followers joined them in crying. Because of the sudden accident, all the citizens of the kingdom were almost unconscious.
