SYNONYMS
yathā — as; sasarja — created; bhūtāni — the living entities; dakshah — Daksha; duhitri-vatsalah — who is very affectionate to his daughters; retasā — by semen; manasā — by the mind; ca — also; eva — indeed; tat — that; mama — from me; avahitah — being attentive; śrinu — please hear.
TRANSLATION
Śukadeva Gosvāmī continued: Please hear from me with great attention how Prajāpati Daksha, who was very affectionate to his daughters, created different types of living entities through his semen and through his mind.
PURPORT
The word duhitri-vatsalah indicates that all the prajās were born from Daksha's daughters. Śrīla Viśvanātha Cakravartī Thākura says that apparently Daksha had no son.
