devasura-manushyadin

nabhah-sthala-jalaukasah

SYNONYMS

manasa -- by the mind; eva -- indeed; asrijat -- created; purvam -- in the beginning; prajapatih -- the prajapati (Daksha); imah -- these; prajah -- living entities; deva -- the demigods; asura -- the demons; manushya-adin -- and other living entities, headed by the human beings; nabhah -- in the skies; sthala -- on the land; jala -- or within the water; okasah -- who have their abodes.

TRANSLATION

With his mind, Prajapati Daksha first created all kinds of demigods, demons, human beings, birds, beasts, aquatics and so on.
