Bhaktivedanta VedaBase: Śrīmad Bhāgavatam 7.8.36

tadā vimānāvalibhir nabhastalam

didrikshatām sańkulam āsa nākinām

surānakā dundubhayo 'tha jaghnire

gandharva-mukhyā nanritur jaguh striyah

SYNONYMS

tadā — at that time; vimāna-āvalibhih — with different types of airplanes; nabhastalam — the sky; didrikshatām — desirous of seeing; sańkulam — crowded; āsa — became; nākinām — of the demigods; sura-ānakāh — the drums of the demigods; dundubhayah — the kettledrums; atha — as well; jaghnire — were sounded; gandharva-mukhyāh — the chiefs of Gandharvaloka; nanrituh — began to dance; jaguh — sang; striyah — heavenly society women.

TRANSLATION

At that time, the airplanes of the demigods, who desired to see the activities of the Supreme Lord, Nārāyana, crowded the sky. The demigods began beating drums and kettledrums, and upon hearing them the angelic women began to dance, while the chiefs of the Gandharvas sang sweetly.
