SYNONYMS

sankha -- conchshells; turya -- bugles; mridanganam -- and of different types of drums; vaditranam -- of the musical instruments; prithuh -- very great; svanah -- sound; deva-anuganam -- the inhabitants of the upper planets like the Gandharvas and Caranas, who follow the demigods; sa-strinam -- as along with their own wives; nrityatam -- engaged in dancing; gayatam -- singing; abhut -- became.

TRANSLATION

The inhabitants of Gandharvaloka and Caranaloka then took the opportunity to play their musical instruments, such as conchshells, bugles and drums. They began dancing and singing along with their wives.
