nīyamāne 'surais tasmin

kalase 'mṛta-bhājane

viṣaṇṇa-manaso devā

hariḿ śaraṇam āyayuḥ

SYNONYMS

nīyamāne — being carried; asuraiḥ — by the demons; tasmin — that; kalase — jug; amṛta-bhājane — containing nectar; viṣaṇṇa-manasaḥ — aggrieved in mind; devāḥ — all the demigods; harim — unto the Supreme Lord; śaraṇamto take shelter; āyayuḥ — went.

TRANSLATION

When the jug of nectar was carried off by the demons, the demigods were morose. Thus they sought shelter at the lotus feet of the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Hari.
