evam -- thus; vyavasitah -- deciding; rajan -- O King Parikshit; bhagavan -- the most powerful; sah -- Vasishtha; maha-yasah -- very famous; astaushit -- offered prayers; adi-purusham -- unto the Supreme Person, Lord Vishnu; ilayah -- of Ila; pumstva-kamyaya -- for the transformation into a male.
TRANSLATION
Sukadeva Gosvami said: O King Parikshit, after the most famous and powerful Vasishtha made this decision, he offered prayers to the Supreme Person, Vishnu, to transform Ila into a male.
