acaryaya dadau sesham

yavati bhus tad-antara

manyamana idam kritsnam

brahmano 'rhati nihsprihah

SYNONYMS

acaryaya -- unto the acarya, the spiritual master; dadau -- gave; sesham -- the balance; yavati -- whatever; bhuh -- land; tat-antara -- existing between the east, west, north and south; manyamanah -- thinking; idam -- all this; kritsnam -- wholly; brahmanah -- the brahmanas; arhati -- deserve to possess; nihsprihah -- having no desire.

TRANSLATION

Thereafter, thinking that because the brahmanas have no material desires they should possess the entire world, Lord Ramacandra delivered the land between the east, west, north and south to the acarya.
