tvam jara visatam manda

virupa-karani nrinam

SYNONYMS

sukrah -- Sukracarya; tam -- unto him (King Yayati); aha -- said; kupitah -- being very angry at him; stri-kama -- O you who have lusty desires for women; anrita-purusha -- O untruthful person; tvam -- unto you; jara -- old age, invalidity; visatam -- may enter; manda -- you fool; virupa-karani -- which disfigures; nrinam -- the bodies of human beings.

TRANSLATION

Sukracarya was extremely angry. "You untruthful fool, lusting after women! You have done a great wrong," he said. "I therefore curse you to be attacked and disfigured by old age and invalidity."
